Just about every girl has been dreaming of her wedding since she was five. I wasn't one of those girls. I was too busy making mud-cups and playing "shepherdess" with my younger siblings in the backyard or playing your typical childhood games (hopscotch, tic tac toe, etc). Sure, there was the occasional wedding my family was invited too. (My favorite part of the wedding was always the reception. Who doesn't love to dance?)
But I never started thinking about weddings (seriously) until I met Matt. He happens to be the most awesome boyfriend ever, in my eyes at least. We've been dating for 3 years 6 months and 23 days respectively.
And to answer the inevitable question: No. I usually don't keep track of how long we have been together in such detail. I just thought it would be a nice touch. So get off my back!
Matt and I have talked about our future wedding plenty of times. No, I don't have the "rock" yet. I have a promise ring for now. He keeps telling me that he's going to ask me next year. Matt's never been good at surprises. (I've known what all of my presents are at least a week in advance.) Now I've started to think about planning a wedding seriously.
I know that one of the problems Matt and I are going to have is budget. He has an excellent summer job that pays well but most of his paychecks are going to paying off his parents and college. I'm just trying to make my payments for college and have enough to buy snacks during the school year. So between the two of us there isn't much.
So that's what this blog is going to be about-budget weddings! YAY!
